About Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists

Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists (FABJ) is a 501(c)(6) not-for-profit organization, operated by a volunteer board of broadcast journalism professionals based throughout Florida. The mission of Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists is to support and inspire creative and impactful storytelling with the purpose of showing the critical importance journalism has in the State of Florida. FABJ carries out its mission by producing opportunities to showcase and honor excellence in broadcast journalism, as well as programming to provide professional development for journalists of all skill levels and experience levels.


Meet The Board

The Board of the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists is comprised of volunteer professional journalists who work in newsrooms throughout the State of Florida. We strive to represent a diversity of roles and experiences from Florida’s television and radio markets.

The FABJ Board’s marquee effort is producing Florida’s annual Excellence in Broadcast News awards ceremony, developing new ways of networking for broadcast journalism professionals and to help foster growth and mentorship among college student aspiring to become professional broadcast journalists themselves.
