How To Submit Entries
All entries for the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists’ Annual Broadcast Excellence Contest are submitted using a web-based program, BetterBNC.

In the top bar of the website, click on Open Call Login.
On the next page, you can log in. To register a new account, look in the lower right hand corner of the log in box, and click on Create your Open Call account.

It’s important to register for the correct contest.

Submission Instructions
FABJ accepts entries in its contest using Better BNC’s “OPEN CALL CONTESTANT” feature. You can log in using your established credentials at https://betternewspapercontest.com/open_contestants/login
You can create a NEW “Open Call Contestant” account at https://betternewspapercontest.com/open_contestants/register
It’s important to ensure you are carefully reviewing your registration to make sure you’re signing up for the correct contest.
PROFESSIONAL entrants should look for FLORIDA News Awards PROFESSIONAL 2024 (FABJ) contest on the Better BNC website.
COLLEGE entrants should look for FLORIDA News Awards COLLEGE 2024 (FABJ) contest on the Better BNC website.In the Media Organization drop-down list, select your station.
If you entered the contest online in previous years, you will use the same password as before. If you forgot your password, use the “Lost Password” button.
Better BNC and FABJ are both available to assist and troubleshoot any problems you may have.
to pay for entries
To pay for entries, please:
Log into your account
Go to the Manage Entries page
Click the “Calculate Entry Fees button on the right side of the page
On the Calculate Entry Fees page, check the boxes for your entries
Click “Pay Now with Card” button
You will see a section appear where you can enter your card information, then click “Pay Now”. Better BNC has yet to create automatic receipts. If you need proof of purchase, please save a copy when paying. If you need a manual receipt, or confirmation of payment, you may also email FloridaNewsAwards@gmail.com
